WHY FOREST SCHOOL?

Forest School prioritizes the learning process over the content itself, emphasizing the "how" of learning rather than the "what." This approach allows it to move beyond structured "planned activities" and embrace the spontaneity and limitless possibilities that emerge from collaborative learning. Children and young people are encouraged to take charge of their own learning, often with guidance from an outdoor educator. This may involve sparking outdoor play, offering learning support ("scaffolding"), or simply observing how children interact with the outdoor environment.

The woodland setting plays a vital role in this dynamic learning approach. The changing seasons, the ancient presence of trees, and the sensory richness of the outdoors—its smells, textures, sounds, and sights—create endless learning opportunities. This environment also connects children to a deeper, spiritual significance, as many believe that trees and woodlands reflect God's creativity throughout history.

Green Trees Forest School offers a personalized, creative approach to integrating Forest School and outdoor education into schools or communities. We provide ongoing support to help children reconnect with nature, including the development of outdoor education areas that can be enjoyed for years to come.

The outdoors is an ideal environment for children to learn and build confidence through organic play. At Green Trees Forest School, we encourage children to explore their natural surroundings using their imaginations. Activities are designed to enhance learning, whether on school grounds or by utilizing the local area.

Our senior student program focuses on fostering independence and resilience. This guided program helps students assess and explore on their own, allowing them to experience the satisfaction of their accomplishments.
